Computer Vision Digital Lenticular Screen
A digital lenticular screen that rotates using computer vision to match your face position
Project Overview
Othering uses a lenticular screen to highlight how easily it is to make assumptions that classify people as "others".  Lightly delving into the history of monoliths that seem obvious; the images seen change once context has been provided. The physical act of moving your head to change your perspective helps in making the experience impactful.
Othering is built with p5.js and ml5.js to take advantage of the machine learning model Facemesh. This technology will track the position of your head and face, allowing us the mimic the change of image you would see with a traditional lenticular image. This was created as a guided experience during COVID for an at home audience and was accompanied by a script providing more detail.
